Health Care Providers' Week
Oct 28-Nov 3, 2019
Saskatchewan’s Health Care Providers work daily behind the scenes to care for you and your family in your communities.
Health Care Providers in Saskatchewan include continuing care assistants, licensed practical nurses, medical laboratory and diagnostic technologists and technicians, environment and laundry service workers, food service workers, office workers, therapy and recreation workers and maintenance workers — just to mention a few.
SGEU recognizes the hard work and dedication of our Health Care Providers, who deliver high-quality care for residents and patients. Thanks for making our province a better place to live!
On behalf of the health care provider unions of CUPE, SGEU and SEIU-West, we have spent this morning reflecting on the loss of the young athletes and their coach; the incredible injuries that have been sustained and the traumatic events that have affected families, emergency responders, fire fighters and the RCMP as a result of the horrific bus crash that occurred last night. Our province is in mourning as we share this loss.
As we try to process this event, we need to reflect on the families who have lost their children and loved ones. We need to remember that players have lost team mates and a coach. We need to think about those that suffered injuries and their road to recovery. We need to think about how we will support those healthcare staff, emergency responders and RCMP who have fought to save lives; shed tears; and have answered the call to tend to the injured.
We are a province of shared hopes and dreams; shared struggles and losses. Communities, families and friends all across our province and country have been affected by this event – but none more so than Humboldt, Nipawin and Tisdale. We are all Humboldt Broncos today.
